Window Installation

Keller Window Door041 1 300×214 – Replacement Windows by AndersenThere are two installation methods for replacing the windows in your home. The comparison below shows the major difference between the two methods. Each installation is different so the information is meant as a general guideline. The style and materials your current windows are made of may dictate the proper installation method as well.

Insert Installation

A good choice if the exterior frame is in good condition
Most common type of replacement
Interior trim remains intact. No paint line concerns
Most appropriate if you have custom window treatments
Slight loss of glass due to “window within a window” concept

Full Frame Installation

Usually necessary when the frame of the old windows is rotted
All interior trim is new
Maximizes the amount of light through a new window
More expensive than insert method due to increased labor and materials.
More insulation between the new frame and the rough opening

The beauty of the Frenchwood® Series Patio Doors is classic and gives a more traditional look to your home. It features wide stiles and rails that compliment the beauty of natural wood, Choose from Pine, Maple or Oak on the inside. A prefinished white option is also available. There are 4 standard exterior colors with an additional 7 colors available. Top off your selection with gorgeous, crafted hardware, auxiliary foot bolts, keyed locks or even matched hinges and you’ve created a patio door that is not only beautiful but will hold up in any type of weather.

Thinner frames (Stiles and Rails) are the main design element of this series of doors. They are designed to give you more glass (and view) than a Traditional style door while maintaining the beauty and efficiency of a Traditional style door. Available with Perma-Shield® cladding on both sides or a stainable Pine interior. Since these doors are sliding (gliding) doors, all the same hardware options available on the Frenchwood® Gliders are also available for the Contemporary Series.
